How can the lessons from ARTEMIS help shape future policy approaches to seagrass restoration and marine biodiversity?

As the project enters its final phase, ARTEMIS is organising an online Policy Roundtable Discussion on the 25th of June 2026, led by project partner The Green Tank and hosted by MEP Dimitris Tsiodras by  and to bring together project partners, policy stakeholders and experts for an exchange on the policy recommendations developed throughout the project.

The discussion will focus on how the experience and results of ARTEMIS can inform the development and implementation of policies supporting marine ecosystem restoration, nature-based solutions and innovative financing mechanisms. Particular attention will be given to the role of market-based instruments and nature-related finance in creating more enabling conditions for the long-term protection and restoration of Mediterranean seagrass ecosystems.

The roundtable will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the policy barriers and opportunities identified through the project and to discuss how ARTEMIS recommendations can support their wider uptake beyond the project.

Join us online to exchange views, explore the recommendations and discuss the policy pathways that can help scale up action for Mediterranean seagrass restoration.
