At the end of each year, the Marine Protected Area (MPA) Capo Testa Punta Falcone in Sardinia, Italy – an associated partner of our ARTEMIS project – takes a moment to celebrate the achievements made toward building a more resilient and protected marine environment. This annual gathering brings together all project managers involved at the MPA site to reflect on progress, celebrate shared successes, and highlight the importance of collaboration between public and private actors in advancing collective knowledge for the benefit of all.

This year, the MPA adds a special milestone to its celebration: the inauguration of a First Aid Center for Marine Turtles. The day will open with the official launch of the center, giving guests the opportunity to explore its facilities and gain insight into the services it will provide for future marine turtle patients.

The afternoon will continue with the MPA Talks: Projects & Future session, opened by a speech from the Mayor of Santa Teresa Gallura and featuring presentations from the various projects collaborating with the MPA.

In this session, one of the projects presented will be our ARTEMIS project that would be showcased by our partner MEDSEA Foundation – represented by Francesca Frau, marine biologist and manager of the project’s Sardinian pilot site –  by introducing ARTEMIS to the public, raising awarness on the importance of Posidonia oceanica and sharing the latest results particularly those achieved within the sardinian pilot site operating inside the MPA Capo Testa Punta Falcone which includes the sampling of Blue Carbon and the restoration of over 2000 posidonia cuttings last april 2025.

The event will be concluded with a documentary featuring stories from local fishers, and a musical slideshow.
